Festivals: a cultural and social engine, by Sergi Montes-Messeguer

Barcelona leads the programming of multiple types of cultural activities and, in particular, music festivals such as Primavera Sound, Sónar, or Cruïlla. Sergi Montes-Messeguer explains that Zurich also has great musical events within its cultural program with a very diverse and alternative offer in which established artists and new talents coexist and with open spaces to connect with citizens.

The local government must work with private entities if we want to promote initiatives in the cultural field and create spaces in Barcelona where new trends and social demands can be found. “The alliances between the public and private sectors have proven to be fundamental in the Helvetic cultural offer”, emphasizes Montes-Messeguer. Public-private collaboration proves key to protecting the cultural legacy of our city.
