Frankfurt has been ranked as a World City by the Globalization and World Cities research network rank due to its green mobility solutions, says Carlos Seguí. He points out that in addition to having excellent public transport, with numerous metro lines, suburban trains, trams, buses, regional, and high-speed train services (even to the airport), Frankfurt also offers a range of efficient digital scooter and bike sharing services to cover the last mile.
"Barcelona clearly has potential to do much more" stresses Seguí who adds that the city must have adequate mobility to retain talent. Mobility in the future will rely on public transport to free up city centers. The train must be linked directly to Terminal T1, and the city should introduce "Park/bike and ride" stations with express trains to the city center, which will have an increasing number of green areas and bike lanes.
