Yalan Shao: “The health sector in Barcelona is highly competitive”

Yalan Shao, born in the Chinese province of Shanxi, first came to Barcelona because her son's illness could be treated at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu using a pioneering medical technique; once he was cured, she decided to stay. “The friendliness and passion demonstrated by those in the healthcare sector really touched me and were crucial in my decision to move to the city,” she explains.
Yalan, Branch Vice-President of the Bank of China, highlights the large number of medical infrastructures and facilities, which, she says, “indicate that Barcelona has an outstanding chance of overcoming the Covid-19 epidemic.”
With regard to the city's opportunities, she asserts that, "Barcelona is a very competitive city and is highly likely to play an important role in the future era of green energy and sustainable living."
