  • Barcelona, global hub in Higher Education

    Description

Barcelona Global will work to position the city as a global hub in higher education and turn this sector into a focus of opportunity for the city.

The association's commitment is based on the opportunity of this market - in 2016, 5.1 million students move to another country to obtain a university degree and this figure is expected to reach 10.2 million in 2030 - and from the fact that Barcelona brings together many of the necessary conditions to become this hub.

It has the support of experts such as Andreu Mas-Colell, president of the BIST; Teresa Garcia-Milà, director of the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics (BGSE); Joan Roca, executive president and partner of Roca Junyent; and the consulting firm SIRIS Academic, with whom Barcelona Global has presented a first report.

    Goals

Specify and promote the necessary steps to position Barcelona as a destination for international university and postgraduate students.
