Description:
In the coming decades, technological changes such as Artificial Intelligence, 5G, the development of zero carbon, climate change, the aging of the population, new social values, the knowledge economy and future mobility models will change the way that cities are designed and the way in which citizens relate to their metropolis.
With this transformation, Barcelona Global wants to involve the top leaders of the current urban projects and experts in technology, science, Smart Cities, energy, culture and entrepreneurship to (re)think about the future of Barcelona and of its metropolitan region through a television documentary broadcasted internationally: 'Barcelona 2050'.
For the production of this documentary, which will be released in Autumn 2020, we have the participation of the MediaPro Studios and MediaUrban team, as well as the involvement of a committee of experts that help us define the documentary and international well-known names to advise us through success stories from other global cities. In addition, we have the support of Aïgues de Barcelona and the Consorci de la Zona Franca.
Through the Barcelona Global Summit: Sustainable Urban Planning project, we have involved 78 partners in 6 breakfasts with the heads of the urban projects currently being executed, to create content and knowledge for the preparation of the documentary.
Goals:
The documentary 'Barcelona 2050' aims to build the map of the Gran Barcelona of the next decades and imagine how future generations will live, seting up the main challenges they will face and highlighting examples of key urban planning plans and inspiring international experiences that respond to the changing needs of society, the economy and the planet.
